06/30/2007 - Brint Adams: This is the end of my first week of training in my new Ruahine F1. I actually have had it for 8 months, but decided to wait to start paddling it until this summer, after most of the winter and spring racing season was over. It took a lot less time than I expected to gain confidence and increase my speed while staying upright. My first race will be in mid-July. By that time, I hope to continue to increase speed to where I will surpass what I could do in my Seda Glider.

Going with the tide and the wind I averaged 6.4 mph, coming back it was 4.6 mph. Overall average was 5.3. More motor boats on the way back and large wakes kept braking my paddling rhythm.
